There are many spots to fish along the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, FL. Here on the southbank are spectactular views of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium where the Jaguars play, the Main Street bridge, and a panoramic view of downtown. There are a number of good spots along the riverwalk to fish. One person I talked to when visiting this spot mentioned that he caught a 46" catfish near the Duval County School Board. There have also been reports of Striped Bass in the downtown area.

Parking Situation:

There is limited parking at the entrance to the Duval County School Board. You can also find parking near River City Brewing Company and Friendship park.

I've been right out in front of The Duval County Public School Board building, so far out of at least 4 trips i've only caught 1 red, about 4 stingrays, 1 crab, and a bunch of little catfish. If your looking for a little night fishing this is the spot for you, there is usually a lot of people out there, just having a good time fishing. This spot is also great for shrimping with a cast net.
